Adding Course Information
This article will explain to you how to add your course information
Each course information needed:
- Course Title
- Course Description
- Course Settings
- Course Language
- Course Category
- Course Tag
- Course Price
- Course Thumbnail
Course Title
Writing a course title may appear to be a simple task, but it can be quite challenging. A great course title can have a significant impact on your course viewers and sales.
Make sure your title is descriptive, engaging, and interesting. Keep your title short and catchy while still providing specific info about the course content.
To add your course title go to your course creation page. To know more about adding a new course click here.
Course Description
A good course description can lead to successful students course enrollment, so make the most of it. Common mistakes in course description writing include focusing on the course itself or the lecturer’s credentials rather than the course content and the learner. Learners are more interested in themselves and the course content than they are in the course or the lecturer, though emphasizing the credentials of a skilled instructor can help sell your courses.
Have at least 200 words for the course description. To entice learners, include information about the course’s program outcomes and how it will help students improve their skills as rising professionals.
Course Settings
Make sure to update each course settings before uploading any course. Follow these steps to update your course settings.
1. Go to your course creation page
2. Click Course Info
3. Move your cursor down. Find Course Settings and update the details needed for each course.
4. Click for General to update the maximum number of students who can enroll in your course, enrollment expiration, and difficulty level of your course.
Maximum students: Set the maximum number of students that can enroll at the same time. This is useful if you are running an academic institute.
Enrollment Period: Define the number of days you want the students to be enrolled for that specific course. After the set time, the student will have to re-enroll to access the course content.
Difficulty Level: As stated in the title, you should also limit the difficulty level so students get an idea of how advanced the course is before buying it.
5. Click Content Drip to enable the content drip type for your course. Content drip is a way of distributing course content bit by bit to your course enrollees until they have the entire course content.
Content Drip Type:
- Schedule course contents by date
This option necessitates the inclusion of a due date on every lesson, quiz, and assignment. If you do not schedule a lesson, it will appear as soon as the student enrolls.
- Content available after X days from enrollment
Enabling this option adds a number field where you can specify how many days it will take to publish the lesson. The enrollment date will be used as the starting date, and it will be calculated from there.
- Course content available sequentially
This is the most basic option. After you enable this option, you will no longer see any options within lessons, quizzes, or assignments. Because as soon as one lesson is finished, the next one appears. That is, this one checks the completed status of the lesson, the attempt status of the quiz, and the submission status of the assignments.
If the previous lessons, quizzes, or assignment status are not completed, this is how the student course lesson dashboard appears to students.
- Course content unlocked after finishing prerequisites
After enabling this option, you will be able to see a list of the lessons that have been created and select the lessons that are required. The lesson will not be published for the student unless these are completed. You can make lessons, quizzes, and assignments mandatory.
